Centre of my attention
In this course I set up my own project. In the field of charity, multiple scandals had led to suspiciousness. I wanted to try if design could contribute in restoring trust. My focus was on creating the next step for Plan, a humanitarian child-focused organization.
By analysing Plan and other charities, the strategies, trends and gaps in this field became clear. I designed the Plan Coffee, responding to the power people want to have when deciding to donate or not. In this concept Plan cooperates with coffee brand Illy.
What I designed?
When costumers come into a coffee bar where Illy coffee is served, they can choose between the slightly higher priced Plan Coffee or just the normal one. If they do choose Plan Coffee, they will receive an immediate reward: a sweet treat.
On the inside of the packaging of the cookie you can read your money will go to the Scholarship mission of Plan and where in the world exactly.
Furthermore, everybody in the restaurant can see you supported the charity, which will be positive for ‘feeling good when doing good’.
